Laser Pigment Removal / Laser Toning

Laser Toning or Laser Pigment Removal is a non-invasive medical procedure in which concentrated beams of laser are cast upon the targeted areas of skin to break down melanin deposits in pigmented and sun-damaged skin.

This process stimulates the growth of new, fresh skin cells, which ultimately leads to the natural skin tone.

This laser skin treatment is widely used to treat skin conditions such as,

  • hyperpigmentation (darkening of skin)
  • uneven skin tones (due to overproduction of melanin)
  • dark underarms and inner thighs
  • melasma
  • chloasma
  • liver spots
  • age spots
  • sunburnt skin

How does Laser Toning Work?

The laser pulse is applied to dissolve pigments and stimulate new collagen production. The principle underlying the laser concept is that the laser wave works only on aberrations and doesn’t affect the normal skin.

What happens during the procedure?

The treatment feels just like a mild sting on the skin. An initial redness is noticed, but it disappears within a few minutes. Ideally, you should not expose yourself to the sun immediately after the treatment and sunscreen with high SPF is strongly recommended.

What body areas can be treated?

This can be used to treat any area of the body, including the face, neck, underarms, arms, legs, and inner thighs. Around the eye area is avoided for safety measures.
